How do I Get God’s Blessings to show up?

1) Lack of Knowledge

Get on a knowledge quest

2 Peter 1:2 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

2 May grace (God’s favor) and peace (which is [a]perfect well-being, all necessary good, all spiritual prosperity, and [b]freedom from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts) be multiplied to you in [the full, personal, [c]precise, and correct] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

• Grace & peace will be multiplied unto you by the level you increase your knowledge of God

Ephesians 1:16-17 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.

17 [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,

Get on a truth quest (John 8:32) the truth that You KNOW

Get to know your God (fellowship, friendship, His Nature)

Example: Pastor Quang cyber robs federal reserve bank

• Rumors, lies, the news, blogs

• I know my friend; he can’t even put an app on his phone; there is no way he hacked into a bank.

• Nature: I know Pastor Quang’s heart; this man loves people, and gives away most his money to churches and ministries to spread the gospel of Jesus.

  • I know him just not about him

  • There is no way this is true

Same thing with God, do you know Him?

• Relationship not just as my personal Savior, healer, deliverer, and provider, protector

• Friendship- is it a 2-way street.  What have I done for God? Have I crucified my flesh, do I dedicate my life as a living sacrifice, do I lay down my life for my friend Jesus to prove I love Him?

• Nature: Pandemic, how can God let this happen?  If there was really a God of love; he wouldn’t let this happen.

2) Lack of Faith

Hopeless internal strife- Last week we talked about negative thought patterns

• Renew your mind in the word of God, prayer, talk to other Christians

• Don’t let a negative thought fester; like a swarm of bees- take immediate action cast those imaginations, arguments, negative thoughts out of your head

• Phil 4:8 (blueprint on what to think: true, honest, just, pure, lovely, good report, any virtue, anything praiseworthy think on these things

Faith Comes by hearing and hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17)

• Faith creates a different energy

• Faith is based on God’s performance not ours (grace)

  • Romans 8:1 (NOW, no condemnation (guilt & shame) for those who are in Christ, and live not after the flesh

  • Live by Jesus performance not our (Rev 1:5 He loved us and washed us from our sins with His own Blood)

Hebrews 11:1 - 21st Century King James Version

11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:6 - The Passion Translation

6 And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God.[a] For we come to God in faith[b] knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking him.

Numbers 23:19 - 21st Century King James Version

19 God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent. Hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?

• Faith in knowing God is not going to lie to me

• Faith in that God is able to do what He said

3) Double minded- in today out tomorrow

James 1:8 - The Passion Translation

7–8 When you are half-hearted and wavering it leaves you unstable.[a] Can you really expect to receive anything from the Lord when you’re in that condition?

• God looks at the heart of a man (David was a man after His own heart)

• Are you a half-hearted Christian?

• Do you waiver when asking God for anything? 

  • or do you ask in faith?

Someone says I got your back

• You turn back, and they are no where to be seen) got your back –WAY Back

God knows he’s got your back; he wants to know do you got his back?

• Are you going to be in today and out tomorrow when things get tough?

• Ephesians 6:13 says doing all you know to do - STAND

Romans 4:20-22 - King James Version

20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
