SERMON NOTES:

Recipe for Peace

Ephesians 6:13 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].

Hosea 4:6 New King James Version (NKJV)

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.Because you have rejected knowledge,I also will reject you from being priest for Me;Because you have forgotten the law of your God,I also will forget your children.

  • Lack of knowledge

    • All of us have access to same bible

    • All of us have 24 hrs. in a day

  • Don’t reject His knowledge by choosing to do other things with your time

  • Things might have not worked out for you in the past (prayers weren’t answered)

    • Maybe you just didn’t have enough knowledge on how God’s system works at the time?

John 16:31-33 The Message (MSG)

31-33 Jesus answered them, “Do you finally believe? In fact, you’re about to make a run for it—saving your own skins and abandoning me. But I’m not abandoned. The Father is with me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”

  • We live in a godless world

  • Giving us a warning; we are going to face difficulties

John 16:31-33 The Passion Translation (TPT)

31 Jesus replied, “Now you finally believe in me. 32 And the time has come when you will all be scattered, and each one of you will go your own way, leaving me alone![a] Yet I am never alone, for the Father is always with me. 33 And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous,[b] for I have conquered the world!”[c]

  • Receive Jesus peace by faith

  • Peace gives you confidence (faith)

Romans 10:17 Good News Translation (GNT)

17 So then, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message comes through preaching Christ.

  • Put your trust & faith in God’s word

  • Put your trust & faith in what Jesus did at the cross (communion)

    • Healing/ wholeness

    • Redemption from the curse by Jesus blood

    • New creation, brand new, old things passed away

  • Now your faith will work

    • Faith to receive His love, joy, peace, faithfulness, patience, goodness, kindness, humility, self-control

Hebrews 12:2-3 The Passion Translation (TPT)

We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection.[a] His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his,[b] he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation,[c] and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!

So consider carefully how Jesus faced such intense opposition from sinners who opposed their own souls,[d] so that you won’t become worn down and cave in under life’s pressures.

  • Stop looking at your natural problems and circumstances

  • Keep your focus on Jesus he is your source of victory

Matthew 14:22-33 The Passion Translation (TPT)

Jesus Walks on Water

22 As soon as the people were fed, Jesus told his disciples to get into their boat and to go to the other side of the lake while he stayed behind to dismiss the people. 23 After the crowds dispersed, Jesus went up into the hills to pray. And as night fell he was there praying alone with God.

24 But the disciples, who were now in the middle of the lake, ran into trouble, for their boat was tossed about by the high winds and heavy seas.

25 At about four o’clock in the morning,[a] Jesus came to them, walking on the waves! 26 When the disciples saw him walking on top of the water, they were terrified and screamed, “A ghost!”

27 Then Jesus said, “Be brave and don’t be afraid. I am here!”[b]

28 Peter shouted out, “Lord, if it’s really you, then have me join you on the water!”

29 “Come and join me,”[c] Jesus replied.

So Peter stepped out onto the water and began to walk toward Jesus. 30 But when he realized how high the waves were, he became frightened and started to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he cried out.

31 Jesus immediately stretched out his hand and lifted him up and said, “What little faith you have! Why would you let doubt win?”

32 And the very moment they both stepped into the boat, the raging wind ceased. 33 Then all the disciples crouched down before him and worshiped Jesus.[d] They said in adoration, “You are truly the Son of God!”

  • When we put our faith in Jesus words the supernatural takes over

  • Jesus told them take the boat and go to the other side

  • Peter had Faith in what Jesus said, Come and join Me (Peter able to do the supernatural)

  • Peters waves= our circumstances in this life, bad report, broke, anxieties, fear, doubt, all leads to unbelief

  • Realize= our carnal 5 senses that feeds natural unbelief

Isaiah 26:3 The Passion Translation (TPT)

3 Perfect, absolute peace surrounds[a] those    whose imaginations[b] are consumed with you;    they confidently trust in you.

Philippians 4:6-9 The Message (MSG)

6-7 Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

8-9 Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

Luke 6:38 [Full Chapter]

Give generously and generous gifts will be given back to you, shaken down to make room for more. Abundant gifts will pour out upon you with such an overflowing measure that it will run over the top! Your measurement of generosity becomes the measurement of your return.”
