SERMON NOTES

Go Say Some Hope

Proverbs 13:12 - New Living Translation

12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.

  • Don’t be hopeless it will cause you to get sick

    • Seriously messes with your immune system

    • Go get some Hope

Hebrews 10:23 - New King James Version

23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

  • Go SAY some Hope

  • Is God Faithful to His promises?

Hebrews 6:17-19 - New Living Translation

17 God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. 18 So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. 19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.

  • God has made an oath upon His Word to never change His mind

  • Hope (God’s promises) is an anchor for your minds, will, emotions

Hebrews 11:1 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

11 Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

  • Before there is faith there needs to be Hope

  • Find the promise in the Word and start meditating it and saying it out loud to yourself

Romans 5:2 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

2 Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God’s favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.

  • Hope of experiencing (imagine)

  • Imagine what you are hoping for coming to pass

    • How would you feel or act?

    • How would you praise God, practice giving your testimony

  • Imagine the joy of bringing glory to God by your hope and faith

    • Well done good and faithful servant

Romans 4:18-21 - New Living Translation

18 Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!”[a19 And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb.

20 Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. 21 He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.

  • Never stop hoping

  • Make God’s word personal to you (God said to me)

    • No respecter of persons (you are His favorite)

  • Faith grows stronger by praising God for the promise

    • You begin to be convinced yourself

    • You don’t let anyone talk you out of it

    • This is how Abraham turned his hope into faith

2 Corinthians 4:13-15 - New King James Version

13 And since we have the same spirit of faith (David), according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak, 14 knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

  • May cause more testimony to bring more people to Christ (Glory)

    • Answered prayer brings more glory to God
