SERMON NOTES:

Faith Process

Believe – Say- Act on (Action)-Receive- Praise (Thanksgiving)- Rest (Sabbath- rest from work)

2 Corinthians 4:13-18  - New Living Translation

13 But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, “I believed in God, so I spoke.”[a14 We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus,[b] will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you. 15 All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.  16 That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are[cbeing renewed every day17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

  • Believe it and Speak it

  • Renew your soul daily with God’s word on your Lips

    • When you speak you are renewing your mind

    • Words create images (imaginations) pictures that become desires or dreams

    • Architect plans (Hope)- Need hope first then faith brings it into reality (manifestation)

  • Don’t look at your current troubles; focus on God’s word

    • The spirit realm stronger (parent, created) than physical realm

Romans 10:8-11 - TPT (Passion Translation)

But the faith-righteousness we receive speaks to us in these words of Moses: “God’s living message is very close to you, as close as your own heart beating in your chest and as near as the tongue in your mouth.” And what is God’s “living message”? It is the revelation of faith for salvation, which is the message that we preach. For if you publicly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will experience salvation. The heart that believes in him receives the gift of the righteousness of God—and then the mouth confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scriptures encourage us with these words

James 2:19-26 TPT (Passion Translation)

19 You can believe all you want that there is one true God,  that’s wonderful! But even the demons know this and tremble with fear before him,  yet they’re unchanged—they remain demons.

20 O feeble sons of Adam,  do you need further evidence that faith divorced from good works is phony? 21Wasn’t our ancestor Abraham found righteous before God because of his works when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22Can’t you see how his action cooperated with his faith and by his action faith found its full expression? 23 So in this way the Scripture was fulfilled:

Because Abraham believed God, his faith was exchanged for God’s righteousness.

So he became known as the lover of God!  24 So now it’s clear that a person is seen as righteous in God’s eyes not merely by faith alone, but by his works.

25And the same is true of the prostitute named Rahab who was found righteous in God’s eyes by her works, for she received the spies into her home and helped them escape from the city by another route.  26 For just as a human body without the spirit is a dead corpse, so faith without the expression of good works is dead!

  • Act on your faith (faith actions)

  • Cooperate to God’s word, God’s voice

  • Proves your faith to yourself that you believe

  • Act on the faith images (imaginations) developed by God’s word in your heart

  • Once these dreams and desires are established (hope in your heart) architect plans; they need to be acted on

Mark 11:22-24 - TPT (Passion Translation)

22Jesus replied, “Let the faith of God be in you!  23Listen to the truth I speak to you: Whoever says to this mountain with great faith and does not doubt,  ‘Mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the midst of the sea,’  and believes that what he says will happen, it will be done. 24This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer—be convinced that you have received it and it will be yours

  • Receive what you believe through Jesus (grace) finished works (Jesus faith actions)

  • Grace (Jesus) makes Faith Takes (hand of faith/ your heart)

    • Take it by faith- Believe it Speak it -Act on it- Receive it

Philippians 4:6 - TPT (passion translation)

Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life

Philippians 4:6 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition ([a]definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

  • Praise Him for the victory before the victory (in advance)

    • Mark 11:23-24 (believe I have what I say, believe when I pray)

    • Definite requests, make a demand on God’s word (wont return void)

    • God’s will is His word (the same)

Hebrews 4:1-4 - New King James Version

Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”;

  • Mix faith with what God says in His Word and what He says through His Holy Spirit

  • Finished works of Jesus (sinless blood shed, price has already been paid, Jesus went to hell on your behalf)

  • Eph 1:3, Eph 2:8

Hebrews 4:9-11 - New King James Version

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.  11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

  • There is a sabbath rest for all believers available (a peace)

    • Everything will be fine, it will work out for my good

Hebrews 4:16 - New Living Translation

16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

  • Whatever you are going through run to Jesus for mercy and grace

    • Mercy- forgiveness, don’t get what you deserve

    • Grace- favor, don’t get what you have earned on your own merit

Believe – Say- Act on (Action)-Receive- Praise (Thanksgiving)- Rest (Sabbath- rest from work)
