Keep Your Soul Full of the Word

1 Thessalonians 5:23 - New American Standard Bible

23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 - New American Standard Bible

17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new [a]creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their wrongdoings against them, and [b]He has [c]committed to us the word of reconciliation.

20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 He made Him who knew no sin to be [d]sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

• New creature born in God’s image- 1/3 of us are just like God

• God is a spirit – our spirit was changed and made like Him

2 Peter 1:2-4 - New American Standard Bible

2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus [a]our Lord, 3 for His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us [b]by His own glory and [c]excellence. 4 Through [d]these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world on account of lust.

• How do we get everything we need to live a godly life out of our spirit into our life

• Flow from spirit to soul to body (natural)

• Faith in His promises (believe His Word as the truth)

Ephesians 1:3 - New American Standard Bible

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

• Past tense – already done

• Spirit realm creates the natural realm

• Learn to flow in spirit realm

John 6:63 - New American Standard Bible 1995

63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

• Bible – God’s Words- Explain to us who we are in the Spirit

• Explain who we are really are now that we are in Christ

• Our true identity- spend time in His word to meditate until we know and believe His word as truth

James 1:22-25 - New American Standard Bible

22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his [a]natural face in a mirror; 24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away, [b]he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. 25 But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but [c]an active doer, this person will be blessed in [d]what he does.

• Word is a spiritual mirror telling us who we are in the spirit now that we are in Christ part of the body (the Church)

Romans 8:5-7 - New International Version

5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.

• Soul governed by His Word leads to life and peace

• Even Christians that are carnal minded (ruled by their senses) hostile towards His ways

Romans 8:11-12 - New American Standard Bible

11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies [a]through His Spirit who dwells in you.

12 So then, brothers and sisters, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh

• When your soul sides with the flesh you are cut off from the power that dwells in your spirit man

Ephesians 4:17-19 - New American Standard Bible

17 So I say this, and affirm in the Lord, that you are to no longer walk just as the [a]Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their minds, 18 being darkened in their understanding, [b]excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; 

• Walk in the flesh- 5 senses- you are excluded from power of Life of God already placed in your spirit

John 14:12-14 - New American Standard Bible

12 Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I am going to the Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.
