SERMON NOTES:
Sowing for A Miracle
Intro:
What do you do when you need a miracle?
What happens when life throws you a curve ball?
How does a born again holy spirit filled believer act vs the rest of the world in a crisis?
Mark 9:23 - Modern English Version
23 Jesus said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
1 John 5:4 - Modern English Version
4 for whoever is born of God overcomes the world, and the victory that overcomes the world is our faith.
1 Peter 1:23 - New King James Version
23 having been born again, not of [a]corruptible seed but [b]incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides [c]forever,
Jeremiah 1:12 - Amplified Bible
12 Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am [actively] watching over My word to fulfill it.”
Isaiah 55:11 - Amplified Bible
11 So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me void (useless, without result), Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.
1 Samuel 16:7 - Modern English Version
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees. For man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
2 Chronicles 16:9 - Amplified Bible
9 For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth so that He may support those whose heart is completely His. You have acted foolishly in this; therefore, from now on you will have wars.”
Proverbs 4:20-23 - Modern English Version
20 My son, attend to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. (Romans 10:17 faith comes by hearing)
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their body.
23 Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.
Mark 4:2-8 - Modern English Version
2 He taught them many things in parables and said to them in His teaching: 3 “Listen! And take note: A sower went out to sow. 4 As he sowed, some seed fell beside the path, and the birds of the air came and devoured it. 5 Some seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and soon it sprang up because it did not have deep soil. 6 But when the sun rose, it was scorched. And because it had no root, it withered away. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. 8 And other seed fell on good ground, and it yielded grain that sprang up and increased by thirty, sixty, or a hundred times as much.”
Mark 4:13-20 - New King James Version
13 And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? 14 The sower sows the word. 15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. 18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, [a]accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
