SUNDAY SERMON:
SERMON NOTES:
Rejoice for Your Name is Written in the Book of Life
Revelation 3:5 - New King James Version
5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.
Romans 8:15-18 - New King James Version
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba,[a] Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
We are Heirs of God & Joint Heirs with Christ
I am God’s child (not His adult)
God’s glory / His wealth, His Riches
2 Corinthians 12:9 - Amplified Bible
9 but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.
Grace- more than enough/ always available regardless of the situation
God’s power is most effective & perfected when we lower or humble ourselves
All of Him and none of me
Galatians 2:19-21 - New King James Version
19 For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died [a]in vain.”
It’s no longer you that lives, the old you has been crucified
You need to crucify your flesh daily not just once or on Sunday
Romans 12:1-2 - New King James Version
Living Sacrifices to God
12 I beseech[a] you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your [b]reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Present your bodies a living sacrifice
I am yours to command
Life of obedience
Luke 10:1-2 - New King James Version
The Seventy Sent Out
10 After these things the Lord appointed [a]seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. 2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.
Luke 10:17-20 - New King James Version
The Seventy Return with Joy
17 Then the [a]seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”
18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but [b]rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
I have Jesus authority
Nothing shall harm you
Rejoice, say this, “my name is in heaven”
Ephesians 2:4-10 - New King James Version
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Raised together, sit us together, in Heavenly places
You are now in heavenly places
You have access now exceeding riches of His Grace
We are His Masterpieces
Hebrews 10:30-35 - New King James Version
30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” [a]says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32 But recall the former days in which, after you were [b]illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: 33 partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated; 34 for you had compassion on [c]me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your [d]goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves [e]in heaven. 35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.
In heaven is not when we die
We have access to better and enduring possessions
We have access to heavens resources now
Luke 11:2 - New King James Version
2 So He said to them, “When you pray, say:
Our[a] Father [b]in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.Your kingdom come.[c]Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
God’s will in the earth is the same as it is in heaven
1 John 4:16-17 New King James Version
16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
We are God’s representatives here on the earth
Matthew 18:18-20 - New King James Version
18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
19 “Again[a] I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
We have access to Heaven’s resources
