VIRTUAL SERMON:
SERMON NOTES
The Tithe connects your Faith to the Blessing
God is in the business of fulfilling His word
Jeremiah 1:12 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
12 Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.
Hebrews 1:14 - King James Version
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
Psalm 103:20 - King James Version
20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
God is the same all the time (He is Love)
Hebrews 13:8 - New King James Version
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Numbers 23:19 - New Living Translation
19 God is not a man, so he does not lie.
He is not human, so he does not change his mind.
Has he ever spoken and failed to act?
Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
2 Timothy 3:16 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
16 Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action),
Genesis 1:28 - New American Standard Bible
28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that [a]moves on the earth.”
First thing God said after He conveyed the blessing
The blessing was confirmation of God’s hand on their lives
Commanded us (not a suggestion) to Be fruitful, multiply, replenish, & subdue
Always producing, always increasing, fill and re-fill, and control your environment or your environment will control you
Malachi 3:6-12 - New King James Version
6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. 7 Yet from the days of your fathers You have gone away from My ordinances
And have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” Says the Lord of hosts.
“But you said, ‘In what way shall we return?’
8 “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings.
9 You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation.
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.
11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the Lord of hosts;
12 “And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land,” Says the Lord of hosts.
Adam & Eve lost the blessing through disobedience
We attach ourselves to the blessing with obedient faithful giving (tithe)
The blessing is connected to the tithe
Reveals the real condition of our hearts (faith without works is dead faith)
The tithe is God’s portion and the blessing is our portion
Promises that come from obedience with the tithe:
Living under the open windows of heaven (the Blessing, can’t out give God; he is always trying to get something to you)
I will rebuke the devourer (eats, consumes, or destroys)
Money you don’t want to spend (appliances, cars, tickets, hospital bills)
Everyone around you will see the blessing on your life (you are a walking testimony of the blessing of God through grace)
