The Tithe: Provides Meat in the Fathers House
Proverbs 11:24-25 - New Living Translation
24 Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything.
25 The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
Proverbs 11:24-25 - New King James Version
24 There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty.
25 The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.
Luke 16:10-13 - New King James Version
10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. 11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?
13 “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
Jesus calls money the least of things
How are people going to truly believe God for their medical crisis, deliverance from addictions, past wounds & hurts, if they can’t trust God with their money (the least of things)?
Tithing is a Sign to yourself that you truly believe & trust God as your Provider & Protector (authenticate)
When you give your tithe it represents your worship, faith, trust (authenticates your faith)
Genesis 1:28 - American Standard Version
28 And God blessed them: and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over every living thing that [a]moveth upon the earth.
God Blessed them : (semi colon about to explain the blessing)
Fruitful-Always Be Producing
Multiply- always be increasing
Replenish- fill and re-fill
Subdue- control your environment or your environment will control you
Malachi 3:10-12 - King James Version
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.
12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.
The blessing is connected to the tithe
By obedience (trust) you get out of living under the curse
Reveals the real condition of our hearts (faith without works is dead faith)
The tithe is God’s portion and the blessing is our portion
Better to be 90% Blessed than 100% cursed (trying to get you living under the Blessing)
Promises of provision & protection that come from obedience with the tithe:
Living under the open windows of heaven
I will rebuke the devourer (eats, consumes, or destroys)
Money you don’t want to spend (appliances, cars, tickets, hospital bills)
Prove Me – God is our power source (the blessing makes you rich)
Everyone around you will see the blessing on your life (you are a walking testimony of the blessing of God through grace)
Can’t change what you did in the past, but you can change what you do in the future
Applies to every Believer & organization (do it in obedience to God)
Church tithes, why? We want the church to live under the open windows of heaven (not closed windows of heaven)
Keeps us out of deficit (we increased during the Pandemic)
Kim accounting report since 2018- increase, increase, increase
Imagine what we could do if every person & organization tithed?
“Meat in His House”- In God’s mind the tithe belongs to the church
Keeps Church operating & Flourishing (do you want your church poor)
Always begging for money from you, pastor making bad decisions, because of money issues
Church is where people:
Learn about God
Find out about God’s plan of redemption through Jesus
To be healed of past wounds (physical, emotional, relationships, finances, spiritually)
We unify with other human beings
Church is where the Word is taught & demonstrated
Only God can change someone’s heart
It takes heart change to see real Life change (change from the inside then you see the effects on the outside)
After a person receives Jesus as Lord and Savior the church helps facilitate the growth of the people (Learn God’s ways/ Learn to be led by the Holy Spirit)
Society needs God, because people need God, and people need each other
Society is better when its people are better
