VIRTUAL SERMON:
SERMON NOTES:
Heal the Broken Hearted
Luke 4:18 - King James Version
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Isaiah 61:1-3 - King James Version
61 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
What situation in your life got you so depressed that you internally stopped living or being the real you?
God can turn it around (faith) beauty for ashes
He gives Joy for mourning & garment of praise
Why? So He gets the Glory so no matter what life brings your way; You will Never stop blessing the name of the Lord
John 15:19-21 - King James Version
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
Mark 4:16-17 - Amplified Bible
16 In a similar way these [in the second group] are the ones on whom seed was sown on rocky ground, who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy [but accept it only superficially]; 17 and they have no real root in themselves, so they endure only for a little while; then, when trouble or persecution comes because of the word, immediately they [are offended and displeased at being associated with Me and] stumble and fall away.
Stoney ground accepts word mentally (assent), but not in their heart
Trouble & persecution come because of the word’s sake
Devil can’t afford people getting established in the word (brings trouble & persecution)
Exodus 20:3 - King James Version
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Modern day idols)
Don’t put things (cars, houses, clothes), status, job title’s, businesses, people’s opinion, wealth, spouse, kids in front of God (idol)
Matthew 6:19-21 - King James Version
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Don’t over value the treasures of this life
Where are you spending your time and money; that’s where your heart is.
Isaiah 61:6-8 -Amplified Bible
6 But you shall be called the priests of the Lord; People will speak of you as the ministers of our God. You will eat the wealth of nations, And you will boast of their riches. 7 Instead of your [former] shame you will have a [a]double portion; And instead of humiliation your people will shout for joy over their portion. Therefore in their land they will possess double [what they had forfeited]; Everlasting joy will be theirs.8 For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery with [b]a burnt offering. And I will faithfully reward them, And make an everlasting covenant with them.
