VIRTUAL SERMON

SERMON NOTES:

Knowledge Of Him

Intro:  Why read your bible?

  • Knowledge of Him, learn of Him, get to know God through His word

  • He is faithful to His word/ can’t break His word

    • World would end or fall apart (foundation of the world built on God’s Word) (Let there be Light)

  • Know the Truth (not a truth) to be set free (wrong mind sets, negative emotions, bad habits, addictions)

  • Faith comes by hearing the word

Romans 10:17 - New King James Version

17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

  • No faith on the subject then no manifestation of Gods promises in your life

John 8:31-32 - New King James Version

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

  • If you don’t know what God says on the subject/ situation there can be know faith

Hosea 4:6 - 21st Century King James Version

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to Me. Seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

  •  Knowledge of Christ not human knowledge

  • What is God’s stance on the situation or circumstance?

    • What does God say about money, healing, deliverance?

Mark 7:13 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

13 Thus you are nullifying and making void and of no effect [the authority of] the Word of God through your tradition, which you [in turn] hand on. And many things of this kind you are doing.

  • Traditions- man made ideas that don’t appear in the bible.

    • You have to be determined to know your bible for yourself (personal)

  • Powerless religion- void and no effect (it doesn’t work)

2 Peter 1:2-4 - New Living Translation

May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

  • God Wants you to experience all of His promises in your life

    • Spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially, and financially

2 Peter 1:2-4 - New International Version

Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

  • Given us (past tense already done)

  • How do we receive? through knowledge of Him

2 Peter 1:2 - New King James Version

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,

  • Grace (free flow of favors) and peace (nothing missing nothing broken, full provision)

    • How does it come? Knowledge of God and Jesus?

  • Multiplied unto you (another past tense already done word)

  • I don’t think many of you have a faith problem.

    • You believe God you love God, you think God is all powerful and can do miracles

    • I truly believe by just talking to most of you and hearing what comes out of your mouths that you have a knowledge problem

  • Most Christians have no idea what God said on the subject (finances, healing, joy, deliverance, peace) they are believing Him for

Ephesians 1:17 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

17 [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,

  • We receive wisdom and revelation through the knowledge of Him (God)

    • Access to the mysteries and secrets of life through our personal relationship with God

      • Deep and intimate relationship (personal)

Psalm 91:14-16 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

14 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

  • Do you know and understand the power behind God’s name?

  • Do you have personal knowledge (experience) of His mercy, love, kindness?

  • Do you trust that He will never forsake you, no never?

  • He will deliver me!

Deuteronomy 8:18 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

18 But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
