The Fathers Love
Galatians 5:6 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
6 For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love.
Works of the law (performance/behavior) don’t count for anything (circumcision)
Galatians 5:6 - King James Version
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Not that you love God, but Faith in God’s love for you
God is trying to get blessing, favor, health, wealth, joy, peace, love to you
1 John 4:14-19 - New King James Version
14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love [a]Him because He first loved us.
Spending time in meditating in God’s love will cast our fear
God’s very essence and nature is love
Deuteronomy 1:26-28 - New King James Version
26 “Nevertheless you would not go up, but rebelled against the command of the Lord your God; 27 and you complained in your tents, and said, ‘Because the Lord hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us. 28 Where can we go up? Our brethren have [a]discouraged our hearts, saying, “The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.” ’
Israel wondered in the wilderness, because they doubted God’s love
Believed the Lord hated them, and complained in their homes
God just parted the Red Sea (miracle, ten plagues against the biggest nation at that time)
John 13:23 - New King James Version
23 Now there was [a]leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.
Closeness of love relationship, John believed the love
Apostle or disciple of love
Couldn’t kill him (Nero tried crucifying him, tried boiling him in oil)
Martyrs supernaturally would give a sign (peace) that being set on fire on a stake didn’t hurt
Example Stephen while being stoned and seeing Jesus in heaven
Romans 5:5 - New King James Version
5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Faith in God’s love will bring hope that doesn’t disappoint, why?
Our faith will work turning all our hopes into manifestation (realty)
Romans 8:14-16 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
15 For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!
16 The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.
Romans 8:37-39 - Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
