Let’s Begin with Wisdom
Intro: We are spirits, we have a soul (mind, will, emotions, personality), and we live in a body
1 Thessalonians 5:23 - Amplified Bible
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [that is, separate you from profane and vulgar things, make you pure and whole and undamaged—consecrated to Him—set apart for His purpose]; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete and [be found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Explain trinity of a man
Genesis 1:26-28 - New King James Version
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over [a]all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that [b]moves on the earth.”
Originally made in God’s image
He gave us His authority by blessing us (be fruitful, multiply, replenish, and subdue)
John 4:23-24 - Amplified Bible
23 But a time is coming and is already here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit [from the heart, the inner self] and in truth; for the Father seeks such people to be His worshipers. 24 God is spirit [the Source of life, yet invisible to mankind], and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
God looking for true worshipers, genuine (not fake)
What you see is what you get Christians (not just in church)
Jesus existed as a spirit before he was born to the virgin Mary
Jesus was part of the US- let Us make man in our image
Jesus had to learn how to live in a flesh body
2 Corinthians 5:17 - Amplified Bible
17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].
You are born again spiritually (spirit part of you is reborn)
Learn how to live by yielding and flowing from your spirit
I have learned to yield to the Holy Ghost (pause and think about) Yes Lord, I will do that for you
I have learned to flow in the Holy Ghost not caring what I look like to others
Willing & obedient to God (seeking His approval above all else)
1 Corinthians 1:30 - Amplified Bible
30 But it is from Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God [revealing His plan of salvation], and righteousness [making us acceptable to God], and sanctification [making us holy and setting us apart for God], and redemption [providing our ransom from the penalty for sin],
II. Seeking Wisdom
Ephesians 1:16-18 - New King James Version
16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your [a]understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
Proverbs 4:7 - New King James Version
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.
Knowing what to do when you don’t know what to do (Godly led wisdom)
Proverbs 1:33 - Amplified Bible
33 “But whoever listens to me (Wisdom) will live securely and in confident trust and will be at ease, without fear or dread of evil.”
Proverbs 2:4-7 - Amplified Bible
4 If you seek skillful and godly wisdom as you would silver and search for her as you would hidden treasures;
5 Then you will understand the [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] And discover the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord gives [skillful and godly] wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He stores away sound wisdom for the righteous [those who are in right standing with Him]; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity [those of honorable character and moral courage],
III. Cast Vison for Church and on your Families
Seek Wisdom and Godly Principles- we are going to build people, spiritual leaders
God’s way of being right
God’s way of doing things
Reverential Fear
Worship
Surrendered trust
Jesus prayer to the Father before the crucifixion- let Your will be done not my own
