PRAISE AND WORSHIP

SUNDAY SERMON

SERMON NOTES:

Church Name and Vision

  • Names are important to God

Trinity- Father, Son, and Holy Ghost

Matthew 22:37-38 - New Living Translation

37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’[a38 This is the first and greatest commandment.

Exodus 20:1-6 - New Living Translation

20 Then God gave the people all these instructions[a]:

“I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery.

“You must not have any other god but me.

“You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me. But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those[b] who love me and obey my commands.

Christian- Disciples of Jesus (Christ) Anointed One

Isaiah 10:27 - King James Version

27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Acts 10:38 - King James Version

38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Zechariah 4:6 - King James Version

Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

Fellowship (atmosphere of God’s love)

Matthew 22:39-40 - King James Version

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Acts 2:46-47 - King James Version

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8 - New King James Version

13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body [a]to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not [b]puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, [c]thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  8 Love never fails.

  • Our church needs to promote an atmosphere of God’s kind of Love

  • Challenge for everyone: Grow or Go

    • I hope that you would choose to grow with us

Vision- Be Free Live Free in every area of your life

  • Spiritually, physically, emotionally, and financially free

  • Free from sin, free from sickness and disease, delivered from negative thoughts & emotions, free from poverty

  • Free to be who God made you to be

  • Free to fulfill God’s plan for your life

John 10:10 - New Living Translation

10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

Romans 1:16 - New Living Translation

16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.

Colossians 1:27 - New King James Version

27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: [a]which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

2 Corinthians 1:20 - New King James Version

20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
